The Friends of the Tewksbury Township Public Library is a nonprofit volunteer organization whose function is to support, enhance and promote the work of the library.
Our association is exclusively charitable, literary, and educational.
The goals of the Friends are threefold:
- To increase, improve, and make better known the resources of the Tewksbury Township Public Library.
- To sponsor events for the benefit of the Library.
- To encourage gifts, endowments, and bequests to be used for the benefit of the Library.
Since 2008, the Friends' have funded nearly $100,000 in needed library projects and improvements. This includes the Friends’-initiated “lift” in the building which allows access to the second floor for those who might have difficulty with the stairs. It includes trustee requests: new windows, new siding, back yard patio and patio furniture, landscape needs, and most recently, our new sidewalk. We have also funded children's summer programs, children’s Halloween party and storytelling, and supplied new childrens' books, as requested by our library manager.
